Al-Shohooh

The name of this dance is “Nadb’a” or “Barz'a”, a type of folk customs of the tribes of “Al-Shohooh”. They inhabit the mountainous Oman-UAE border at Musandam. They have a strange language; which is a mixture between Persian, Arabic and English. It is difficult for any foreigner to understand.

The “Nadb’a” is the habits of “Al-Shohooh”, whereas of long standing man among a circle of young men. Then he proceeds with the launch of cries of sequence similar to the howling of a wolf, while raising his arms up adjacent to his forehead and keep it on hold. Then he calls a sequence of words can’t be decrypted. The cries look like cries of consecutive, which is an ancient tradition as a way to warn an attack from neighboring tribes in ancient times.

Certainly, the Protégées had felt some discomfort from these cries while tried to invade their land in 1850th.

Over the time cries had turned into a tradition done by the guest, as an expression of thanks to the generosity of his hosts. Later; it turned to a tradition practiced in weddings and receptions.

Mumbay..

Mumbay: Sophistication and simplicity.. Arrogance and Humility.. Diversity and Individualism.. Beauty and Bizarre.. Time and Place.. People and other Species.. Love and Hate..

A Comprehensive Celebration of Humanity..

I love India and Indians..
Despite how Arabs denounce them..!!

The 21st century; is the Indian century..
The official national plan.. so far intact, despite the scandals..!!

The Role of Arab-Intellectuals..

On the question on the Role of Arab-Intellectuals..??
Simply: Forget it..!!

Intellectually: Among the 350 mln Arabs; only couple of millions granted their postgraduate degrees.. Among those, few hundreds who value the research degree as a mandate for progress rather than a tool for personal gains (the wonders of “Dr” abbreviation..!!)
Adding: Failure of civic societies, chronic divide between capitals and other cities (forget about rural..!!), lobbying as backbone of media, corrupted sociopolitics, shallow public culture and many more..

Nevertheless, the Arabic term “Mothaq’af” is unmatched in any language..Either Arabs exaggerate or underestimate the term..!!

Then, no shame to announce the absence of Arabic intellectuality..!!!

Before people get hot and excited; ask any non-Arab first..!
As correctly and wisely quoted in Sudan:
"No camel would realize the curvature of its Neck..!"

During the current Arabic events; since the 14th of Jan 2011, many of the so-called Arab Intellectuals had played low profile, speechless and/or on-a-long-sick-leave; as they discovered having nothing to feed the hungry and angry minds..!! ...

I guess one of the leading Arabic reforms should be: redefining the terms for epistemic use, and the eligibility to research, in order to avoid wasting national dreams and funds on both selfish or barren brains..

Ossam AlQousi: He is my Friend

Sh. Ossama AlQousi & me presenting our project to M. Haykal (the time-Minister of Information) in Socialist Youth Science Forum, Cairo 1970

His journey was long and diverse enough to grape everything Islamic..
Grown up as ordinary boy, later quitted medical school to join Jihadists and other fictions.. He returned and gained his MBBS in his 55 birthday..
From the extreme radicalism to the optimum governance; he was gifted to hold the breakthrough to the righteous practice of Islam and Life..
He is gifted distinctly both Knowledge and Data..

(Knowledge and Data: These terms are the most controversial among the elite, and the most unknown to the commons.. Hikmah & Eilm in Arabic text, which are great confusion as: Most of who claim Hikmah as only has Eilm.. Most who holds Eilm are not necessarily wise..!)

Despite his opponents, his words are always sensible, wiser and calm.. True description of a knowledgeable person..
Since our soft nails, we both were neighbors, friends and mates for almost 20 years.. Almost half brothers..

May Allah swt bless, further enlighten and shield him..

Rapping Female Detainees..

Throughout history, capturing, enslaving or rapping the women of the enemies, rivals and/or opponents was a common practice since the dawn of time.. Women are treated as assets of those worriers, target to be seized, destructed or damaged.. Just another military tool in any brutal fight for any cause.. Of course, pretty women were sexually enslaved, announced as mistresses or sold for higher prices.. The luckiest women will be kept relatively honored to breed; particularly if they are healthier, more feminine and/or belong to distinct social ranks.. Women were associates of war, with different loss and gain logarithms.. They knew and lived long time with this fact..!

With evolution, philosophers had called for some measures, to regularize these barbaric actions.. In fact, those measures were never meant for dignifying the women, but the worriers.. They were meant to avoid disturbing the performance of the defending worriers if their women would be hurt by the enveloped rivals.. Men couldn’t accept a woman; who had been molested, rapped or temporarily hidden away from their care.. Men historically had deliberately hide, denounce or ignore these facts.. and probably still do till today..!

So, these brilliant measures or the code of war, were never meant to protect the helpless women.. This would interpret the ancient traditions to bury women along with their dead husbands.. A well known practice in ancient Africa, Asia and some parts of Europe and the Americas.. Also, military historians had never bothered to track violent incidents against women; as been considered as inevitable losses.. Ironically, the violence against women during wars was the root of ethnic evolution as well as behavior disorders; which both are extended to various issues in our modern urban life..!

Rapping women was the most celebrated form to practically announce victory or defeat.. The concept of free exercising of women had traveled to many aspects of human socialization.. In far east, women were presented to the gusts as utmost gesture of hospitality.. It could be the wife, the daughter or the maid.. Almost everywhere among the rulers; women are traded for peace and diplomacy.. Till date the same practice is common among monarchies and dynasties.. Among some African tribes, women are given to elders, witchdoctors and leaders.. Everywhere, women are forcible or volunteer sex-workers.. In modern urban environments, women are harassed in work places, public places, and army units.. Most husbands don’t ask the wives for their consent to make love.. Generally, women have no single control on their own bodies..!

Such a global culture of downgrading women, structures the potential brutality by any man with authority.. Rapping women in detention is notoriously known among law enforcement officers in all underdeveloped countries.. Also, widely spread among politicians and civic officers worldwide.. The rapped women are too humiliated and ashamed to file complaints, nevertheless to speak about their agony.. As much as rapping women was a live-with tradition of the past, people had equally retaliated.. Today, while rapping is never equal, never associated with worriers, and/or never mutually retaliated; it became a deeper psychological disorder of loss situation..!

The concluding fact of today: Rapists are neither worriers nor defenders, but male beasts.. Victims are neither rewards nor associates of war, but females with heavy burdens..!

I’m not sure how authentic this video is, however it only fits the context..

For the common good, I had borrowed the thread of discussion on the S.I case, from facebook page of Alfatih Abdeldaim

Gaddafi 2011..

For 42 years, no single Arab cared for what rubbish this person was doing.. We were laughing, joking and amused by his circus events.. All Arabs treated Libyan people as aliens.. It will be healthier to share the regret on ignoring their suppression and unknown frustration.. It will be dignified to admit sharing the guilt, as much as had claimed been more educated, sensible and brighter than those Grandsons of Almokhtar.. I guess, once this regime is removed, the atrocities will be shocking to know..!!

The unfortunate and unprecedented challenge in Libya, is the systematic destruction of government and civic tools, by the claim of the "Green Revolution".. It had structured immature, chaotic and corrupt system of government that no academic researcher could figure..!

Regretfully, many of journalists, academics, writers and politicians had directly or indirectly supported the "intellectual" products of the freak Colonel.. Libyan moneys, oil and potentials were great appeal for the international business; while no actual concern was ever made to serve its people..

In the most optimistic scenarios, columnists had predicted a decade prior to any true sociopolitical changes in Libya.. Apparently, many were wrong.. However, the drama is just about to start.. How to build a country on the wrecks would be lift by Gaddafi..?

Gaddafi had severely lost it three times during his rule..

1st, when his mentor and benchmark Nasser suddenly died in 1970, It was too early for him and his fellow young army officers to figure out how to run a country with huge oil reserves.. He learned how to rule, the hard way with support of intelligence agencies in Egypt, Russia, Sudan; which had turned his regime into a police state..

2nd, when he disputed with Sadat of Egypt in 1975; who had launched a fierce media and political campaign against Gaddafi, turning the dispute into a personal insult on state level..!! This was the turning point in his personality, to claim visionary, scrape opposition and browse all political potentials..

3rd, when the Crows missiles missed him in 1986, but killed his daughter; he started to trade his limited immature powers with covert operations, economic deals and media circus.. Gaddafi armed most rebellions around the world, purchased senior politicians, and host pretty women for lectures in Rome..!!

Finally, Libya had been ruled by a freak personality; who likes to shake the audience by unexpected moves.. This time, the Libyan commons are unexpectedly shaking him..!

Once Gaddafi said: Democracy means "Dohmaa Alla Al-Karaci" (in Arabic: the Commons seating on chairs..)
I can't have a comment..!!

USA & US..

My Friend Adam Aba-Husain, questioned:
Do you think the USA will ever have another civil rights movement? What do you think it will/should be?

Maybe I have a different controversial point of view, as consider USA as the mirror of our human civilization.. I can prove the same in a lengthy text, but it is not the point.. If US society, culture, ambition, drama, etc., is the interpretation of all sociocultural derivatives of those immigrants who came from all over the world, it certainly tells not only the summary of human experiences, but also both simple and complex ambitions of each person.. No wonder it is the land of Opportunities, no wonder it has all extreme ideas across the board..

The beauty of the American culture that it continuously evolves without hesitation; but with lots of lobbying.. The awful wrongdoings of its administration is magnifications of all others, and the praised righteous deeds reflect all good wishers worldwide.. I guess we need to deeply neutrally examine the US system to understand and predict ours..

Coming back to your precise question; US culture had deep-rooted the act of law and public consensus as way for change.. No more calls for potentially-violent actions, as people value living rather than scarifying it.. If MLK come alive, he’d fail, yet his dream is coming further true.. USA had proved how among the printed newspaper, the microphone and the keyboard, great divides in mind set..

Tal al-Mallohi

Tal al-Mallohi was a CIA agent since her 15th..!!!
I suspect my pregnant Syrian neighbor, her fetus is Morse coding..!!!
What a crap regime in Syria.. Couldn’t they find better lies..!!!

Tal Dosr al-Mallohi (alternately, al-Mallouhi) (Arabic: طل الملوحي) born in Homs January 4, 1991 is a high school student and a Syrian blogger from Homs. She is considered the World's youngest Prisoner of Conscience. On 27 December 2009, Ta...l was taken from her home by officers of one of the security offices in Syria because she has written poems about Palestine and social commentaries on her blog. Ever since, her parents didn't know which security office has detained her nor where they can visit their daughter. Tal al-Mallohi has been accused by the Syrian government of being a spy for the United States of America, and sentenced on Feb 15, 2011 to five years in prison.

She had such an outstanding brain to realize, and an amazing energy to blog.. Should the fashion-lover-teenagers model to her..?

Once I posted the case of Tal.. most of my Syrian friends became too busy to comment, call or say hi..!! This is the barbaric definition of the Syrian regime..
It is a shame for a government to challenge a teen ager..
It is a shame for a regi...me claiming “Manly Stand” to chase a young girl..
That corrupt legacy had lost Andalusia, without accountability..
Despite noisy propagandas and shouts, Asad regime couldn’t restore Golan or Askandron.. Only the Bully on tiny Lebanon..
It is the curse on all honest proud Syrian citizens..

Restructuring a New Government..

Well before the ousting of Mubarak, lots of noisy calls for reforms had flooded Egypt.. Regretfully, mostly are not wise enough to build a nation, as all who has a voice, a pen or a keyboard had participated in a very confusing debate..
I do realize how Egyptians are in general politically naive, with lots of tender hearts and soft memories, which had enabled tyrants, corrupt rulers and incompetent politicians to rule the country throughout history.. For all those honest Egyptians, I participate, while addressing generic concepts that would also work for Sudan, and any other country passing through the tough times of delivery..!

Firstly; Democracy should not have any Precedent Conditions on who’s who.. The purification, standardization and idealism processes will grow with time and practice, while sending their roots deep in the grounds, subject to proper fertilizations and care..

Secondly; The enthusiasm of revolution will inevitably call for massive changes, which mostly will not be necessary nor condition for the proper practice.. However, the public demand for change will pressure for the drama, yet, the role of the leadership, either selected, elected, or emerged, is to guide the masses into the righteous route, not to follow them otherwise..!

Thirdly; Transitional period is a must, which should be as minimal as possible.. Get the people to practice chaotic democracy, instead of no democracy.. Get the public practice discussing the eligibility, instead of any ivory criteria.. Get the civic society stay hot in reshaping both civic and public service, instead of philosophical pros and cons.. Do not wait or cripple the spirit.. Do not lose the people’s momentum.. Get the people conceive, gro

w and follow their own leaders.. Forget about those pride-seekers of glowing committees..

In terms of structure, Egypt already has a good one.. Local Councils and National House

1.Just need to extend the Local Councils further down to Counties and Villages’ level, with new terms of operations, communications and governing bylaws..

2.The House can properly function, with open election based on dual representation.. One for the brains, and another for the muscles.. Between both groups it is the historical problem to define who’s who..

3.Once definitions are intact, constituencies are restructured, and electoral process is agreed, all political parties, lobbyists or independents can run.. Only subject to constitutional eligibility criteria..

Therefore; to serve the proper democracy, it is needed to create an Independent Authority, Commission, Agency for Elections, which would report directly to the Judiciary..
The independence of the Judiciary would be the true achievement, while the tricky relationship with the Executive authority, which is required to run the business.. Symbolically, Public Prosecution is part of the Judiciary, while Public Attorney is part of the Executive..

In terms of functions, Egypt need to fine tune, close the gaps or defuse conflicts among the several legislative or executive bodies..

1.Enabling Unconditional Formation of NGOs, Labor associations, professional entities, and all other forms of sociopolitical activities, which shall be the sole advocates and venue for any political calls, to organize, scrutinize and develop the serious participation..

2.Produce general and details Code of Conduction for all NGOs, and civic society members, which should be monitored by the Judiciary as well as by its own constituencies..

3.Capitalize on “Peoples’ Committees” to develop “Community Policing”, a modern breakthrough against police corruption, brutality and disconnect.. Also would reduce the law enforcement and security numbers and cost from 1/80 (Egypt) to standard 1/500 (UK)..

4.Develop mechanisms to secure the role of civic society in enforcing Transparency, Good-Governance and Citizenship codes.. This is a long march, yet starts with little ones..

Therefore, it is required to revisit all agencies within the Executive to assure suitability, functionality, and auditability.. The Crusade definition of the three principle authorities should be kept intact and further solid, while operational and functional details would draw the creation of breakdowns.. The Jan 2011, events had defined few establishments that would mark present and future times:

1.The Presidency (If constitutional presidency chosen)
2.The Executive
3.The House (with breakdown of local councils)
4.The Judiciary
5.The Military
6.The Civic Society (with breakdown of NGOs, Leagues, Syndicates, etc..)
7.The Law Enforcement (with community policing, Penal, rehabilitations, etc..)

Historically, Egypt used to be known with plenty of Statesmen rather than Politician.. This fact would explain the hard delivery of reliable leadership in times of crisis.. Yet, it is the safety valve that all endeavors would serve the common good..

.

Republic of Sudan

I'm not sure what will be the name of the Republic of Sudan??
On the coming July, there will be the State of Southern Sudan..
You can’t keep the current name, nor call the lift over: Republic of Northern Sudan, as it includes its Western and Eastern territories as well..!

Because we in Sudan are the most closer, the most affected and the most knowledgeable about Egypt and Egyptian.. Who is in agony never clearly sees, understands or expresses.. We in Sudan chew politics, history and humanitarians like gum.. Yes, we are a failed nation ourselves, yet our potentials are high enough to dream about utopia on earth...!!!

Some would read my comment as praise for our Sudanese case..
I’m not..!!

We are a failed nation as we could not produce a single Statesman.. This is a historical fact.. We had plenty of Politicians, but not a single Statesman.. Our civic service was structured not on Statesmen but on Clerks.. This is what differs Sudan from other ex-British colonies.. This is why Sudan is not conceptually member of the Commonwealth..!

Nations are debated by Politicians, yet sustained by Statesmen.. Despite all Sudanese intellectual production, we could not sustain our country as a nation.. On the contrary in Egypt, despite the repeatedly failed political themes, there is a sustainable nation..

Decoding the Revolution..

These days, as inspired by Tunisia and Egypt, our Sudanese politicians and activists are blowing in the revolutionary fires.. They are missing a critical element: “Revolution requires tangible and mysterious factors all together.. When gauges synchronize, Revolution will surprisingly ignite..”

I have great reservation on wasting lives of enthusiastic young men and women in those disconnected, premature and naïve actions.. Already the regime is geared up to desperately fight back, while our physical unity and will are not in place.. Don’t underestimate how our consensus is already exhausted from the revolutionary shakes during the last 50 years..!! If the young generation didn’t find a reliable roadmap and leadership, it will end up in chaos, or they will shift to Rap and Hip Hop lyrics.. All are factually useful instruments for frustration release..!

I argue who claims a revolutionary, a visionary or a politician, to hold it and revisit all scenarios to assure the correctiveness of what they are doing.. I sincerely support any revolution against that regime who wasted and chopped my country into parts.. But I emphasis on brains’ utilization, believing that each soul should never been wasted in vain..

Lately, I had received lots of notes, invitations, briefs and causes against the “Islamist” regime in Khartoum.. I followed the developments of Jan 30th, which ended with a martyr, while its echoes did not travel to some districts with Khartoum itself.. Yes, some int’l TV news had briefly mentioned, while all momentum was already gone to Cairo.. This was the 1st pitfall of the organizers..!

In addition, preparation was not intact, nor enough number of protesters was assured.. (2nd pitfall)

Organizers had relayed on the street-walkers to join, while had scheduled the protest at the peak of the daily earning.. The Egyptian lesson was to schedule a free day, a weekend or a holiday.. (3rd pitfall)

Despite the excellent job of the follow-up-groups, who cared for detainees, injured or dead; it was clear that the same distinct scope and plans were not available for the media group, who could not campaign properly pre or post the event.. (4th pitfall)

Applying the out-dated tactic of energizing fresh activists to demonstrate, while protecting the leadership in the backlines is a dishonest one.. However it indicates how weak, amputated and incompetent the so-called political leadership is.. (5th pitfall)

AlJazeerah.. The Arabs’ Anti Christ..

In mid 1990th, Aljazeerah (AJ) news channel was launched with a non-refundable loan from Qatari government of $500. The mandate was to support the channel for 5 years till maturity and stand alone as a corporate. AJ had its 1st pragmatic step to attract media experts, famous commentators and TV anchors to form a winning team. The scenario was simple: “To achieve the highest rates of Arabic audience in no time..” Then, it was the smart profiling of Arabic audience and defining conceptual strategy on whom, what, and when.. Certainly, the brilliant experienced team had accumulated together all appealing elements, with further steps to contact all controversial, oppositions and contradictions in the Arabs world.. The use of the contextual objectivity had enabled addressing issues and subjects; which were totally new to the mostly illiterate fans.. This was enough to bring the audience to watch the never seen before within the broader media blackout or tight control in Arabic world..

By early 2000th, AJ was established as a leading news channels with more than 40% of the viewing share among Arabic speaking.. It was phenomenon, as who would oppose it, kept watch as well..!! The implemented media recipe had penetrated each house, office, lab and classroom, with floods of new-to-know themes among suppressed audiences.. Once Sep 11 took place in 2001, AJ was the 1st to station next to Bin Laden, promoting his day life, ultimatums and philosophies.. Certainly, it was a breakthrough and new concept in news coverage, which had landed the anchor in Spain jail and awarded the producer its CEO position in 2009.. Therefore, many critics accused AJ of the use of excessive sensationalism in order to increase its audience share..

In 2002, Qatari government, within its search for a new executive role in the Arabian politics, they took over AJ again, as an influential tool in the regional politics.. Wikileaks in early 2011 had released clearly sentenced discussions on the utility of AJ in Qatari establishment.. Certainly, the capacity to reach the Arabic masses, and motivate them toward particular political agendas, is a dream for any politician and statesman.. This had been reflected in the frequently repeated confrontations between Arabic regimes and AJ during the decade.. Only Egyptians has the mightiness to stand firm, not by their trenching with the Qataris as Israeli allies, but also with their ownership or management of the Arabic satellites that servers most of Arabic TV channels.. Since its coup d’état in mid 1990th, the Qatari regimes had endorsed a policy of working with contradictions.. This had utilized the monetary resources along with the strong western aligns, to establish a new political referral in the Middle East.. Such ambitious target, despite its irrational and greedy foundations, had drove the Arabic politics into a dark endless tunnel in critical moments of time..

What really matter, is the audience patterns which are celebrating the channel and form its wide fan groups among Arabs.. Considering the psychological and media techniques are in use by AJ, it is inevitable to find many would spend some time exploring its attractive debates, reports or intelligences.. During the years, as how many anchor journalists had joined the channel, many also had lift, expressing different reasons cycling around their own professional satisfaction.. However, within the violent political order in the Arabic world during its young history, many contradicting editorial guidelines had emerged from time to another.. There is no clear prioritized vision, apart from the famous slogan of “The Opinion and The Opposite..” The concentration of questioning legitimacy of authorities, debating the principles of political practice, with lots of species from hidden files on corruption, torture, misuse of powers had collectively grown wide suspicion on terms of cooperation and facilitations in most of the countries.. Despite how such stand would blow the hot topics to air, it inevitably question AJ credibility and journalism.. The commercial success does not much the political one, as many predict its decline once the global political order would denounce the Qatari tiny role..!!

The current audiences are simply and obviously divided into three groups:

1. The unprivileged lower classes who are charmed with the exotic exposure of hidden files in any subject, yet the juicy once are always related to dynasties and political powers.. The align fake tones would attract them further, while unable to draw a demise..

2. The middle classes who are frustrated with ongoing unrest, interrupted and confusing way of life, which they try to find answers for.. The editorial messages always target them as the main gear among Arabic speakers..

3. The new elite layers, who are well educated, well paid, and well monopolized by their own cultural demons.. They are leftovers of a changed landscape, while their roots are still hanging in the virtuality of the 1980th.. The times of last Arabian awakenings of 20th Century..

AJ will continue to be a main player in cyber journalism in the Arab world, not only due to the above mentioned reasons, but also for the materials they produce, which catches the attentions of many agencies worldwide. AJ Expands a lot since their launch, and almost covers all geographic destinations of the Arabs.. Nevertheless the English service, which has limited audiences, despite the different editorial concepts it has..

The One..

I Don't need A Lot of people Who Are ready to Cry when I Die,
I need just One Person Who is ready to Die when I Cry..

by: Osama Ahmed Momin

The Golden Times..

A dear friend of mine send my that song as a birthday gift..
She asked me to:"Let this birthday be the new beginning of the golden times.."

"About That Soul" is the name of the song, which I had made as the theme for my blog.. It is about that journey a soul will take to reach its destination..

Ironically, it is the theme song for an Arabic drama in MBC Dram+ TV,
with a funny name: "Men are Wanted.."

This is not an Islamic Revolution..

As the questions on Islamists role on the ingoing events across the Arabic/Muslim world; such academic analysis is fetal to set a ground for reliable understanding..

"These developments have also affected Islamist political movements, as is exemplified by the changing face of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and al-Nahda, the "renaissance party", in Tunisia. The Muslim Brotherhood has changed in response to troubling events, as much in what seemed like success (the Islamic Revolution in Iran) as in defeat (the repression that has been meted out to it everywhere). A new generation of militants has drawn lessons from this, as have such veterans as Rachid Ghannouchi, founder of al-Nahda. They have understood that seeking to take power in the wake of a revolution leads either to civil war or to dictatorship. And in their struggle against repression, they have come into contact with other political forces and formations. Knowing their own societies well, they are aware that ideology carries little weight within them. They have also learned lessons from Turkey, where Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the AK party have succeeded in reconciling democracy, electoral success, economic development and national independence with the promotion of values that are, if not Islamic, at least "authentic".."

Egypt's Identity Crisis..

This is how everything is deliberately misspelled.. This is how Egypt forcibly has an Identity crisis.. Regretfully, such an author is totally out of any reach..! Should we question the MEF criteria to appoint senior staff..?

In his essay, lots of mistaken analysis and twisted data are structured in order to deliver a poisonous message to the naïve readers.. Almost no line without a needed correction.. However, I brought it up as an example of the chaotic referrals that many would take for granted..

No woder that MEF Promosts American Interests..!

Egypt's Identity Crisis
by Raymond Ibrahim

http://www.meforum.org/2832/egypt-identity-crisis

With Egypt's "July Revolution" of 1952, for the first time in millennia, Egyptians were able to boast that a native-born Egyptian, Gamal Abdel Nasser, would govern their nation: Ever since the overthrow of its last native pharaoh nearly 2,500 years ago, Egypt had been ruled by a host of foreign invaders—Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Turks, and Brits, to name a few. After 1952, however, Egypt, it was believed, would finally be Egyptian.

Yet, though Nasser was Egyptian, the spirit of the times that brought him to power was Arab—Arab nationalism, or "pan-Arabism"—the theory that all Arabic-speaking peoples, from Morocco to Iraq, should unify. (Along with Nasser, the tide of pan-Arabism also brought to power Libya's Muammar Qaddafi, Syria's Hafez Assad, and Iraq's Saddam Hussein.)

The revolution significantly Arabized Egypt. That Egypt's official name became the Arab Republic of Egypt—as opposed to simply the Republic of Egypt—speaks for itself. Whereas before 1952, one could have spoken of a distinctly "Egyptian" character and identity, after it, this identity gave way to an Arab identity. From there, it was a short push to an Islamic identity. Or, as Egyptologist Wassim al-Sissy recently put it, the revolution "erased the Egyptian character, which had been known for its tolerance, love, freedom, and so on. The revolution created a nation of slaves."

MB, The Long-Live Mystery..

On Muslim Brotherhood (MB):
Their sophisticated preparedness,
Their political foxy skills,
Their smart operations to win the hearts,
Their long experience in stressed underground activities,
Their readiness for long term fight,
Their religiously motivated patience,
The intelligence agencies’ suspensions towards their long term agenda,
Their counterparties in Sudan and Somalia,
Their mysterious web of logistic supply chains, and
The deliberately confusing operational tactics..

A National Mall in Every City..!

My friend Hussam Abdelghany, had created a group on Linked-in, called New Egypt Builders
He describes it as: “Egypt today, after the success of our revolution, needs all of us to give from our souls to rebuild it and to compensate the last decades when it has been left behind and came last at the developed countries queue. We, as architects, have a major responsibility towards our country, our cities and our people..”

I commented:
It is a nice idea, but allow me to advise..
The professional problem is not the architecture.. There are many good ones, who scored on all levels, locally, regionally and internationally.. The problem comes from the urban planning, which is simply no standards, no vision, and no sociocultural integration.. Some ones will come to fiercely defend what they are doing, yet, you may defeat their argument by any browsing.. Everyone would follow the master plans, not the other-way-around.. Therefore, Egyptian architects should stand firm, requesting the update of mater planning profession, activate the code of conduction vide their leagues, and campaign to face-lift the cities, old or new.. All should fit with a vision, which allows for people to protest without crippling the traffic.. Call it: A National Mall in Every City..!!

In London it is Trafalgar sq, in Paris it is Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in Washington it is the Mall, even in Khartoum; it is the Central Station.. Every city should have a Mall, where people would gather, celebrate, protest, discuss, even love.. It is a symbol of Democracy-in-Practice.. This is what is missed in most of Arabic cities..
I guess in Cairo it should be created between Ramsis & Ghamrah Stations, replacing the ugly old rail tracks, adding value to the surrounding districts, and reachable from all directions.. Only need to lay under the metro track for this 1.5 km, or leave it as a security barriers..!!!!

Washington DC National Mall

Proposed Cairo National Mall

The Curse of Oil..

An old repeated story..
The curse in not necessary the oil, but the incompetent governments and civic authorities..
It is a global dilemma, as most on natural resources are rich where lower rates of literacy, health, wealth and administration take place..

The questions; which should all Africans ask:
Why such environmental disasters are not happening elsewhere?
Is it an inefficient contract management?
Is it corrupted staff who accept lower codes of HSE?

Gaddafi'e Democracy..

The one from the Coco’s nest..!!
If Gaddafi speaks a smoother Arabic tongue accent, he would add lots of chaos to the deteriorate Arabic culture.. This amazing adolescent-alike leader had master over the years realities of political power..During the long years of his role, Almost 40 now; he speaks out what he likes, ignoring any protocols, logic, or common sense.. He twists all facts to serve his weird thinking.. He comes up with unprecedented actions, He always shocks the world, while no one capable to stop him.. Fortunately, he never tried to enhance his accent, nor arrogantly cared for.. Therefore, his influence still within the unprivileged 1.5 km2/15 million-capita country..

Cafe Sudan: Notice of Closure..

Dear All
It is formally, no more the Sudan we used to have.. Some celebrate the partitions, others are not.. For me, it is a great loss.. I have a grandfather buried in Wau, and a half-uncle buried in Malakal.. and certainly cousins whom I did not meet.. I was planning to go searching for them.. But it seems no point anymore, as the political will is sending us apart, forever.. I'm an older to fight, a disappointed to advise, and a visionary to walk..!!
Also, I have friends whom inevitably shall turn their faces somewhere else.. I have genes that will irritate me.. I have facts beat my dreams, and already break my heart..
I do thank all members to this page, as need to shut it down.. There us no Sudan to address or to celebrate.. Articulated or amputated Sudan is no more my country..
If anyone interested to talk over, I have no reservations..
I shall delete the page by March 1st, 2011..
Be Blessed..

Rebuilding a Nation..

Egyptian protesters attackng an anti riot police car

By default, in the 3rd world everyone is claiming knowledgeable.. The 50% or more of these populous nations are below 25 years old, with 10% belong to the cyber generation.. Within the global networking, they have more time to virtually explore the world, to draw physical dreams and to share fierce frustration on disappointments.. Then, everyone talks about the must-reforms with ammunition of tabloid-alike news feeders, while unconsciously repeats the propagandas of state-media.. As their intellectual skills escalate by video gaming; all issues are open for that young debates.. Despite how issues are complex; those youngsters are amazingly confident of their (eventually disintegrated) visions.. Unfortunately, the enemy within is greater than the old times.. It is the Immature public culture as grown by long term confusions and illusions, mixed with that young honest enthusiastic aspiration to reshape the world..

In Egypt; for 18 days, few millions had protested while the other majority watched in anxiety and fear.. Many outspokenly talked Politics, Constitution, Int’l Relations, and Philosophy.. Gossips and chats became theories.. Predictions became road-maps.. Then, no one is fully confident to factually change; including the Army.. Egypt would become a swollen body without limps.. When my Egyptian niece argued me on the constitutional reform, I could not manage her boiling energy nor her young logic.. I rremembered that debate I had in 1985 on the “Source of Law”: Is it the revolutionary legitimacy, despite its enthusiastic nervousness, or the epistemic legitimacy as drawn by white collars, gray hair and forefathers-alike..? A question that never settled among either emerging or failed nations..!!

Inevitably as people; we are not epistemically nor physically equal.. It was also advised by all Holy Books and Philosophies.. Science had standardized the process, which had learnt from the renaissance that parameters should be set in pragmatic manner to avoid the public chaos.. Therefore, a scientist in NASA will not know where Gaza is, the famous Orange County Choppers are clueless about Kashmir, while George Clooney never spoke about the US constitutional amendments..! Let’s face it.. There is a missing element in the 3rd world‘s interpretation of democracy; which creates the misleading context and appreciation as well.. Why Indian democracy is not celebrated as the biggest..? Why Gabon election requires foreign monitors..? Why Sudanese judiciary is not reliable..? On the contrary; Why Japanese election goes unnoticed..? Why the British audit Blair’s war decision..? Why European Nationalists are wining the powers..?

It is the Mature Social Manifesto..

This is how the Egyptian 25th Jan 2011 had shockingly started

A Capital at Ramcel..

NEW CAPITAL FOR SOUTH SUDAN:
The Capital of the Republic of South Sudan will be relocated to Ramcel (Triangle between the three main Regions of South Sudan, Greater Upper Nile, Greater Equatoria and Greater Bahr El Gazal) and the construction of the new Capital will start very soon with modern technology.

This is a brief of an interesting chat with couple of Southern Sudanese fellows, who are educated, enthusiatic and yet open-minded.. Ayen Kwai, Kut Alier Kwai, and Kwai Alier

The debate started with:
"Economic progress in the South what does it depend on???"

Political Maturity..!
In Sudan , or Ex-Sudan; we had lots of politicians.. Maturity is rare.. However said, should refer to benchmarks.. not actions..!
Without benchmarking, any action might be called wonderful..!! while it is a slip to hill..!!

I don't mean to question any officials or representatives, but the Bell Syndrome tells that only 2% (on any level) would be able visualize the big picture.. You need to learn all lessons around, to smooth your way forward without glow, fake or deformed interests..

If you would trust a "Darfurese" knowledge-based expert..
Ok, let's meet the facts without those nicely said words..
With almost 80% illiteracy, 0.5% graduates, 0% infrastructure, 50% political unrest and 99% tribal mind-set.. This is not a recipe for IFDs or PPPs, but only for UN/Gov Aid..

Unless you draw your own realistic visions on government (what Singapore did), on Capacity building (i.e, Balkan), on governance (i.e, S Africa); South Sudan will unlikely attract investors..! They are greedy and cautious..

You need to understand that the world is open (i.e, Dubai), natural resources are indefinite (i.e, Malaysia) and social change is slow (i.e, Qatar)..

You need to Master your own decision, manage troops of greed and create formal reliability.. (instead of talk about new Capital at Ramcel, upgrade Juba.. This unnecessary talk of few billions..!) ..

Good luck..!

Dr Azmi Bishara..

I do like him as well, yet, have lots of preservations and concerns on his enthusiastic approaches, which compare the Arabic status to the sophisticated academic models; which are pot with his personal experience in the foxy Israel/Palestinian politics..

He is a high level thinker, who is not suitable to address the mass of 75% illiterates.. His elegant and eloquent statements may please Arab graduates, yet confuse their commons.. Being on Aljazeerah is a great loss as well, with controversies on their political roles as detailed in Wikileaks..

Arabs are already emotional, who need to be more pragmatic to localize their epistemic accumulations.. They need to get rid of the chronic syndromes of momentum-loss and unsustainability.. Any further controversies have negative impact on their realization and awareness..

His caliber in the West are hosted in intellectual endowments and institutions, which enables them to add greater value, or at least to avoid market places.. This is what Qatari "Arab Democracy  Foundation" tries to do, despite the many hurddles and limitations around that proposed role.. Dr Bishara is a member in its Board of Trustees..

Hamza El Din..

This late brilliant composer was almost unknown to the 80 million Egyptians.. yet, believed in being an Egyptian..
Either he chose a wrong stage, a wrong theme, or a wrong ID..!!
A part of the mysterious Egyptian legacy..!

Political Media..

Gaston Camille Charles Maspero (June 23, 1846 – June 30, 1916)

During the last century, Egyptian personalities were fully (and only) autopsied for (Throne’s) political use.. Orchestrated by (Lobbyist) Media.. In the last 12 days, who were touched by (Patriarchic) Mubarak; followed the (Confident) Souliman, and later wept with (Gogoole’s) Ghonaim..!!

The massive 5 million sq ft ERTU complex, Maspero Street, Cairo

In Egypt, the honest men who had tried throughout history to align politics to the commons, had always and mysteriously failed.. This valid since the times of the Pharaohs.. Egypt was always geographically a hub for resources and wealth.. It was also historically a center for cultures and powers.. Always the majority peasants were poor, the fortunes were seized by dynasties and the precious land was nationalized and later redistributed, many times.. Earlier obedience was drawn by blood, early voters were bullied by cudgels, modern ballots were always forged by State Police.. Haman was the Media-Godfather, then; uncountable number of media expert and lobbyists, later Maspero was the internship hub.. (A short street named after Gaston Maspero; where the Egyptian Broadcasting Complex ERTU).. ERTU was launched in 1960th, when Nasser knew the game and controlled the Arabic cyber sphere..!

In Egypt, it is always hard to predict the next move.. as multiple factors controls the game.. Only once upon a time, when mysteriously all gauges synchronize, the street would move.. Apparently, State Establishment knows the same, and ready with unprecedented scenarios; extracted from the psychological autopsy; to confront, regain, and lead again..!!

Read Carefully..!
Gaston Maspero
As an aspect of his attempt to curtail the rampant illegal export of Egyptian antiquities by tourists, collectors and agents for the major European and American museums, Maspero arrested the Abd al-Russul brothers from the notorious treasure-hunting village of Gorna, who confessed under torture to having found the great cache of royal mummies at Deir el-Bahri in July 1881. The cache was moved to Cairo as soon as possible to keep it safe from robbers.
In 1886 he resumed work begun by Mariette to uncover the Sphinx, removing more than 65 feet (20 m) of sand and seeking tombs below it (which he did not find, but have later been found and left unopened). He also introduced admission charges for Egyptian sites to the increasing number of tourists to pay for their upkeep and maintenance.
In spite of the brutality towards the Abd al-Russul brothers, Maspero was popular with museum keepers and collectors because he was known to be a "pragmatic" director of the Service of Antiquities, one who would allow them to remove from the country what he did not want for the Bulaq Museum. Maspero did not attempt to halt all collecting, but rather sought to control what went out of the country and to gain the confidence of those who were regular collectors. When Maspero left his position in 1886 and was replaced by a series of other directors who attempted to halt the trade in antiquities, his absence was much lamented.
