RIM Dooms Day..!

Can Research in Motion (RIM) Survive a 2012 Doomsday?

Research in Motion (RIM), which only four years ago was a tech industry darling due to the success of its revolutionary Blackberry smartphone, has now been placed on death watch by many analysts, who believe that the company has been effectively destroyed by Apple. In this year alone, shares have lost over 60% while the company delayed its flagship Blackberry line and launched a poorly conceived and received iPad imitator, the Playbook. Google's purchase of Motorola at a 63% premium has led speculators to buy shares RIM's devastated stock, which currently trade in the high $20s, in hopes that another tech giant will buy out the company at a similar premium. Regular investors, however, should stay clear of RIM, as it currently is showing all signs of an imminent implosion.
