Turkey had managed to merge its eastern heritage with western mind-set.. Yes, the price was incredibly great.. maybe for many generations to come, till the final settlement will take place..
However, the beauty of their endeavor comes from three controversial approaches:
- The supremacy of the Government to defuse ethnic or cultural confrontations,
- The willing of the people to attach themselves to advanced European order,
- and The diminishing of religious establishment as true driver or controller on the nation..
Certainly, The dream of Greater Turkish State is great hurdles in the route, The search of alternative of national apology against earlier atrocities in Balkan and Armenia is yet unreachable.. and The raising religious spirit gets the authorities on their toes on a constant theme..
I do like Turkey, and see it an adequate relaxing, retirement and resting home..!!
