I should have realized

 

The thing I understood too late is that I should have left, and not held on to you, since you first ignored my letters, because of my waiting, because of my anxiety, because of my fear.
I should have realized that such things don't come by chance, nor are they learned, nor are they asked for.
For whatever reason, the heart understands them, knows them, and conforms to them.
