الوحشية: فقدان الهوية الإنسانية في فكر أشيل مبيمبي

في عالمٍ تشكله أنقاض الاستعمار وتعيد إنتاجه قوى الهيمنة، يرى أشيل مبيمبي أن الوحشية لم تعد انزلاقًا عرضيًا في مسيرة الإنسان، بل تحوّلت إلى نظامٍ مستقر، تُمارَس فيه السيادة من خلال القدرة على تحديد من يحيا ومن يُترك للموت.

إنه زمن "سياسات الموت"، حيث تُبنى السلطة على الحق في الإبادة، لا على واجب الحماية.

في هذا السياق، لا يُختزل فقدان الهوية الإنسانية في غياب الصفات الأخلاقية، بل يُفكَّك الإنسان ذاته، يُعاد تشكيله كـ "جسد زائد"، كمجرد هدف محتمل للقمع أو الإقصاء.

الهوية تُسلَب حين يُعاد تعريف الإنسان لا كذات حرة، بل كموضوع مراقبة، كمستعمَر أبدي، أو كغريب أبدي حتى في وطنه.

الوحشية إذًا، ليست فعلاً همجيًّا، بل أداة سياسية، وآلية لإدارة الأجساد، وتشكيل العالم.

وهنا، كما يشير مبيمبي، يصبح الصمت جريمة، وتتحوّل اللامبالاة إلى مساهمة في استمرار العنف، وتضيع الهوية تحت ركام القتل الرمزي والمادي.

Savagery: The Loss of Human Identity in the Thought of Achille Mbembe

In a world shaped by the ruins of colonialism and reproduced by forces of domination, Achille Mbembe argues that savagery is no longer an accidental slippage in the human journey, but rather a stable system in which sovereignty is exercised through the ability to determine who lives and who is left to die. This is a time of "necropolitics," where power is built on the right to exterminate, not on the duty to protect. In this context, the loss of human identity is not reduced to the absence of moral qualities; rather, the human being is dismantled, reshaped as a "superfluous body," a mere potential target for oppression or exclusion. Identity is stolen when the human being is redefining itself not as a free subject, but as an object of surveillance, as an eternal colonizer, or as an eternal stranger even in his own homeland. Savagery, then, is not a barbaric act, but a political tool, a mechanism for managing bodies and shaping the world. Here, as Mbembe points out, silence becomes a crime, indifference becomes a contribution to the continuation of violence, and identity is lost under the rubble of symbolic and material killing.
