The Hijab..

France was the 1st to seriously question the Islamic “Hijab”.. which unfortunately had not published among other Muslims.. I had few glimpse about the debates, but cannot claim to have the full spectrum.. The agreement set among supporters and opponents of Hijab; stills unknown for me.. yet; I’m sure it maintained reasonable parameters for both.. The "Hijab" became a religious symbol, not a code of practice.. it started 40 years ago by re-emerging Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt; as symbol of distinction from other ordinary Muslims; and Christian Coptic in particular..

Historically; "Hijab" was known among Gypsy, Indian, Bedouin Arab, European Orthodox and Sahel African women.. It was sought for various reasons, mostly climatic.. Its rituals had interpreted different political and social criteria.. Yes, along the history; many Muslim women were “Hijabi” on their own way; which was mostly social or fashion trend.. Their "Hijab" had nothing to do with religion, as the concept was shared among believers of all oriental religions..!! Christian Orthodox, Hindu and Jew are "Hijabi" too..!!

Yes, there is a clear instruction for Muslim women to maintain their "Hijab"; which was meant to distinct them from others, and shield from inappropriate behavior or temptations..
Unfortunately, "Hijab" recently survives as political demarcation; as many would perform, despite neglecting their religious duties.. It became a schizophrenic status rather than a maturity one..!! Thus; "Hijab" is a point of scrutiny till proven as a mark of harmony..!!

True “Hijab” should be a symbol of elegance and beauty.. extracts its value from both tangible and intangible vibes that it would spread among all performers and observers as well.. It is not the famous distinct fashions in Turkey, Iran, Syria or Egypt.. It is not confused with traditions in UAE, Saudi or Oman.. But stand alone concept and practice; that requires creativity and openness..!!
My great fears that a non-Muslim would come with such ideas and concepts.. as usual..!!
