Breathtaking Hungary..

Hungary represents the core culture in Central Eastern Europe.. preserved geographically and linguistically from all possible invaders.. Yet was a source rather than a magnet, for molding the surrounding nations in their dialogue with Ottomans, Romas, and Slovaks.. Hungarians were blessed with their plains to prosper, and the mountainous ring of Carpathian, Balkan and Alps, to protect.. Amazingly and despite the 150 years of occupation, Hungary was the castle that stood against the brutal Ottoman invasion, drawing the borders between the ever-dusturbed Balkan and Europe.. Ottomans did not change the merit of the nation, yet add more strength to its people and culture..

Hungarian Women are famous as pretty loyal and great wives/mothers. They summarize the essence of that ancient yet vivid culture; which had built a nation and a distinction. Many Arabs and African had taken Hungarian wives during their grant-studies there in 1970th-1990th. Healthy families were established, yet many cracked by putting the cultural divide in intimate practice..!

One of the extraordinary accidents in history is the creation of Magarab Tribe on the borders between Egypt and Sudan. Magrab is an Sudanese adjective for descendents from Hungary (Magar in Arabic) These were an Ottoman battalion who were heading to Sudan, but decided to quit the army and reside there.. They took for themselves wives from the native Nubians and established a powerful respected tribe; which still existant till date..!

Certainly very few had heard about this Hungarian fellow; Yaqut ibn-Abdullah al-Rumi al-Hamawi (1179-1229) who was once a slave ; yet build the necessary knowledge to be one of the outstanding Muslim scholars in geography and literature. His famous book "Dictionary of Countries" was the reference one for many centuries. He was the first to record Hungary in Arabic, but widely was mistaken to be Syrian..!

For one hundred and fifty years the Ottomans had ruled Budapest until their fateful defeat at the gates of Vienna. The city was a provincial capital and a garrison town with a skyline dominated by lofty minarets. However, the only is left today is the turbe of Gul-Baba, a Bektashi warrior-saint..!

  1. Hungary had made a significant historical events for many times.. Once they stand against the then-powerful communist Soviet Union.. Then they led the transformation into market economies and democracy.. Lately, their outspoken primer Victor Obran; advocates for "Illiberal Democracy"..
I guess Hungary is always in a date with history..
    Let's observe..!
