Ottomans vs. Turkish..!!

Wherever the heavy historical Ottoman Boots landed, heavy humane atrocities took place.. Not only in Balkans, Armenia, Syria, Algeria.. but even in smallest communities and villages in Iraq, Sudan, Libya.. These thoughts were recalled while watching the black and white images of the Armenian Massacres in 1915.. It took the international community many years to establish a consensus and a way-forward to diminish the Balkan issue from living memories, and still suffer lots of drawback.. Thanks to some enlightened and brave persons of ex-Yugoslavian Republics, who believe that revenge will lead to nowhere..

Yet, Armenians are still frustrated and furious about their own hurt, which could not diminish despite the long Soviet Role.. They lost about 2 million in brutal mass murder, in addition to massive ethnic cleansing based on rape, abuse and forced migrations.. Armenians has one of the biggest communities in Diaspora; about 30 millions worldwide, who generally constituted respectful and successful entrepreneurships wherever they settled.. Historical Armenia, which go back to pre-Christianity ages had lost almost 80% of their native land due to Turkish routes or alienated new nations.. If Jews had claimed consent rights against famous Holocaust, Armenians can demand for the same.. It is now a complicated geopolitical formula..!!

It was notable enough that Ottomans' attitudes towards the invaded nations was based on mixed Chauvinism and Jihad..!! in a way, Ottomans were driven by reviving the Grand Turk Empire, which covers all the lands they routed from their origin in Central Asia. Therefore, it is all theirs from Western China in the east to Istanbul in the west. Eliminating Armenians and Kurds was part of that patriotic strategy to maintain the physical grounds.. Jihad in its historical and radical terms had paved the roads for Ottoman Battalions to invade Balkans, North Africa and Arabian Peninsula; either to take Islam to new frontiers, or to restore Islamic Caliphate.. Ottoman never fought established and strong regimes in Russia, Iran, India and Italy.. Pro-Ottomans were more clear on their strategies and political objectives.. and till day they do..!!

Yes, new Turkey is a lot different; with people realized that nothing gives them privileges above the others.. yet, they need to reconcile with that bloody past, admitting wrongdoings, seek forgiveness and establish trust for future cooperation.. This is never be easy for a culture known for its self-pride and military-styled.. Modern Turkish are open minded for the others, believe deeply in peaceful sharing, and eagerly look for rightful stand within world order.. They are not fanatic alike Ottomans, they are not arrogant the same way, yet; their neighbors have the right to feel suspicion..!!

I do believe that modern Turkey and Turkish have to present a lot, and be patient a lot too..!! The 1st would inevitably be controlling the patriotic themes, and rationalizing the Ottoman heritage..!!


Deliberately, I distinct Ottomans from Turkish, to make a sense.. wishing that everyone would do the same, otherwise; the cycle of violence and mistrust would never break..!!
