Israeli in Dubai

Shahar Peer pulled off a magnificent upset Wednesday morning in Dubai, defeating top ranked Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 7-5 to reach the quarterfinals of the Dubai Championship.

Peer’s victory carries some heavy political baggage. Last year, organizers of the Dubai event forbid her from participating due to her nationality as an Israeli. The WTA imposed a fine of $300,000 and security for Israel’s tennis star was especially tight.

BTW; this comes while a big raw by Dubai Police Chief, on the Israeli plot to murder Hamas Leader (AlMabhouh).. He wants the Head of Mousad to be prosecuted for the assassination..!! Despite the fact that many European Capitals contributed to the campaign, for using their national passports; the whole thing is serving a different political agenda that has no place for Dubai..!! Neverthless, Dubai Police would not know about the killing, while had treated the case as accidental death by electrocution, till a tip came from Syria that the guy was murdered.. Then; the media circus was assembled..!! I hope Dubai would not follow the Qatari mind-set..!!
