Camel Mounted Soldiers..

The Camel Mounted Soldiers (Hagganah in Egyptian dialect) were an impressive Egyptian innovation, utilizing the manly Sudanese bravery and skills..

Those men had not only secured the desert borders of Egypt, but also terrified the Egyptian villagers and commons to revolute against their rulers..!!

They were a legacy in the Egypto-Sudanese story..

Between Sudan & Egypt; a very complex long history.. Since the Pharaohs' times; Sudanese were part of Egyptian culture, where they always tend to migrate and look up "North"..

Sudanese influx to Egypt never stops; nor stabilizes the ties and links between the two countries.. Egyptian never know Sudan.. Sudanese never quit Egypt..!!

Egypt is one of the few countries where people (visitors or residents) are remolded and culturally adopted by massive, comperhensive and dominating culture.. Today; most of the 5 million Sudanese in Egypt are slowly "Egyptianized"..

It is amazing watching the Southern Sudanese teens and kids who their parents fleed to Egypt two decades ago; speaking with Egyptian dialect and tongue.. Sometimes, I feel that Egyptian culture would be a catalyst to unite Sudan..!! (I know how Egyptians are serious to maintain our unity for their own benefits)

In Egypt, you may find two types of Sudanese.. The first; who were dissolved in Egyptian culture and society, lost all ties with homeland, and evolved into one of the existing ethnic groups in Egypt.. The second; who did not penetrate the society, live on the threshold and dreaming with a Sudan; which does not exist anymore..!!

الهجانة

لقد كان الجنود خيالة الهجن (أو الهجانة) بدعة مثيرة للإعجاب في مصر ، وذلك باستخدام السودانيين ذوي الشجاعة والمهارات الرجولية

لقد شملت مهام هؤلاء الرجال ليس فقط تأمين الحدود الصحراوية المصرية ، ولكن أيضا تأديب القرويين المصريين اذا ثاروا في وجه حكامهم

لقد كانوا تراثاً عميقاً في القصة السودانية المصرية

بين السودان ومصر ، تاريخ طويل ومعقد للغاية.. منذ زمن الفراعنة ، كانت مصر جزءا من الثقافة السودانية ، التي كانت ولاتزال تميل دائما إلى الهجرة والبحث عن الشمال

تدفق السودانيين لمصر لا يتوقف أبداً ، ولا تستقر العلاقات والروابط بين البلدين كذلك.. وبرغم من أن المصري لا يعرف السودان ، فان السوداني لم يتوقف عن مصر

تعتبر مصر واحدة من الدول القليلة حيث الناس (الزوار والمقيمين) يتم اعادة تشكيلهم ثقافياً من قبل ثقافة وهيمنة شمولية أوسع ، اليوم ، يتم ببطء "تمصير" أكثر من 5 ملايين سوداني في مصر

ومن المدهش مشاهدة المراهقين للجنوب السوداني والاطفال الذين قد فر آباؤهم إلى مصر قبل عقدين من الزمن ؛ يتحدثون باللهجة واللسان المصري.. أحياناً ، أشعر بأن الثقافة المصرية ستكون حافزا لتوحيد السودان ، وأنا أعلم كيف المصريين جادين للحفاظ على وحدتنا القومية لما فيه مصلحتهم الوطنية

في مصر، تجد نوعين من السودانيين.. الأول ، الذي تم ذوابانه في الثقافة والمجتمع المصري ، وفقد كل الروابط مع الوطن ، وتطورت ليصبح واحداً من المجموعات العرقية الموجودة في مصر.. الثاني ؛ الذين لم يخترق المجتمع المصري ، ويعيش على أعتابه ، ولايزال يحلم بالسودان ، ذكريات ليس لها وجود الآن
